my fish has kind of thick white strand behind it?
the same thing happened yesturday should i be worried.
its stringy and it has brown lumps on it.
This is likely a strand of excess mucus or poop, which I would be slightly concerned about… If the fish is producing excessive mucus, that means something is irritating it (either parasites, ammonia, or chemicals). Have you used Stresscoat or any similar chemicals lately? This will irritate the fish, causing it to produce extra “slime”. High ammonia and nitrite levels can certainly pose as irritants to fish, again, causing them to make more mucus to protect themselves, as can parasites. Test your water for ammonia and nitrite and do a water change if you find any.
It could be poop, and white, opaque, stringy poop is commonly a sign of intestinal parasites… Is the fish still eating and acting normal? If so, leave it be. If not, consider treating with medicated fish food (if it’s eating), and if it’s not eating, try something like Paracide or Clout.
If the fish shows no other signs of disease, there is no ammonia or nitrite in the water, and you haven’t used something like Stresscoat, Melafix, Pimafix, or Bettafix, I would just write it off as nothing.
EDIT: Ich is a PARASITE, not fungus.
