What is the green stone/gem that comes typically from tenerife?

I recently went to tenerife and bought a little tiny pendant there.
It is a greeny/yellowy stone that looks quite quartzy and is quite see-through.
I remember the woman who sold it to me saying that it was a stone typically found in tenerife, and she may have said something about it coming from volcanoes? but i can’t be sure.

I believe your stone is a peridot, which is a form of the minearal Olivine, and is found in volcanic islands like Tenerife and Hawaii. It is a pale yellowish green, very pretty. There are some pictures in the sites below.
