can anyone tell me when this wedgwood jasper ornament was made or if its worth anything?
i have a wegwood jasper piece, my computer will not upload the photo so i will describe it hope someone can help!!
its definatley an ornamental piece
sage green
about 12cms x 5cms its rectangular with cut corners
white arond the edges some sort of leaf pattern
the middle has two greek men
one is an old bearded man with long hair who is looking at the other man, who, is young with short hair and holding a bowl, next to them is a fire in some type of bucket/pot, and there is a column with a teapot on it
i have looked for this same piece but can only find ones which are the same shape but with a different colour and picture in the middle
what i do know is that it is jasperware
its one of the pieces from the greek line they did
on the back it has
WEDGWOOD
MADE IN ENGLAND
with a makers mark P 62
would love to know when it was made and how much its worth
Send a photograph of it to the Stoke on Trent City Museum in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. Wedgwood often did the same design in different colours, (blue, green, black and occasionally a rather nasty pink and a yellow) but I think that most of the old ones were blue. Green is more likely to be 20th century I think. But the museum will tell you for sure.
