Jewelry metals?
I have several questions!
1) How can you tell the difference between white gold, silver, and sterling silver? What is the grade of metal called that turns your fingers green? is that sterling, or another cheaper material? I’m trying to organize my jewelry, both the costumey jewelry and the nice jewelry. the problem is that i can’t tell the difference between a real silver earring and a junk earring!
2) is there such a thing as white gold, or is it all just yellow gold with a chromium plating?
3) how do you tell the difference between a real and a fake pearl (such as tiny little stud earrings)
1) sterling will not turn anything green, it is a high quality metal
3) the only way i know is to rub the pearls against your teeth; if it feels gritty, its real, if not, its fake; thats actually pretty accurate, i find
