Does increasing population worry anyone?

I suppose this question is aimed at people below thirty. Experts predict the population of the UK will double in the next forty years. Does this not worry anyone?
Unless anyone can think of a miraculous remedy this means constant traffic jams where you could be stranded for hours. Double the number of buildings -the south of England will be one huge suburb
with nowhere to escape to. Conservation will be pointless as most wildlife will be extinct -exept for rats. Waste disposal will be a nightmare. Most people will have to work and remain at home as travel will be a nightmare. The quality of life will have been lost forever.
And yet no government is faintly worried by this -they never mention limiting the size of families and they maintain an open door policy on immigration.
Are you not all very afraid for your awful future?

It worries me heaps. I always get confused when scientists will say oh there’s heaps of this animal, it’s doing a bit too well, there’s like 300 000 of them, and they start suggesting even possibly culling some, “for their own good”. Then there’s humans, over 6 billion of them and getting so many more every day. I don’t understand how people can get so worried about that number of animals but think nothing of the number of humans. Things are just really out of balance. The people having the most kids are also the ones who can least afford to. In the past, heaps of these kids would have died because they didn’t have the means to look after them or treat them for illnesses etc, but now things have improved to the point where most of their kids will survive at least to have kids of their own. We have so many people living in poverty, charity organisations seem to think the answer lies in donating more money but I just don’t know if it’s even possible to support them all, when seriously there would be well over a billion people in that category. We could support them maybe to the point of giving them food to eat, but then what? What do they do in their lives, except have more children. I’m not saying I don’t think they any less right to life than anyone else, but, I just wonder if there will ever come a time when we will actually look for a true solution, rather than just continually throwing band-aids at the problem. Spending your life trying to help those people by working for charities is brave, but it would take real courage to address the problem rather than just the symptoms and I don’t know if society could accept such a person. Most people in the developed countries have a birth rate of under 2 per woman. This means that over time, the population will actually decrease as each woman is not having enough children to replace herself and her partner. But it’s a totally different story for the rest of the world and I’m not sure how you would go about changing this. Increasing populations scare me a lot, and more so because there’s no solution in sight.
