white material, rust stain, HOW TO REMOVE? = URGENT!?
I have a bow tie with a metal clasp, and it appears to have gotten damp, and the metal part has left a rusty orange stain on the white cotton fabric.
Is there any household substance that will remove this stain chemically..?
We have tried scrubbing with soap alone, but this seemed to make no difference..
I thought that perhaps a household reductant would need to be used, so googled this, but I could not find things the websites suggested.
Is there anything you recommend?
either something you would expect to find in a house, or that I can purchase at a hardware store or any other store??

Just apply some of your regular detergent dissolved in pure lemon extract (lemon squeezed but not diluted) on to the rust stain.
Place a bloating paper of common tissue paper on the other side of the cloth and let it dry under sun.
After drying, remove any powder that remains on the cloth and then wash it in plain water…
I think that would be a domestic solution, otherwise you can always turn up at a dry-cleaner’s. They are the experts!!!!
PS: DO NOT TRY ON COLOURED FABRIC.
